    Parmesan Asparagus in Phyllo

    Paired with ArborBrook Klipsun Vineyards MLH Sauvignon Blanc

    24 asparagus spears, depending on size

    16-ounce package frozen Phyllo dough sheets, thawed

    1/4 cup butter, melted or Pam butter spray

    Powdered garlic to taste

    Lemon pepper

    White pepper to taste

    1/4 cup finely grated Parmesan

     Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.

     Snap off the tough ends of the asparagus. Unwrap the Phyllo and cut the stack in half lengthwise and then half. First sheet of Phyllo brush lightly with some melted butter or spray all over with Pam. Sprinkle with some Parmesan, garlic powder, white pepper, and a touch of lemon pepper.  . Place an asparagus spears on the short end of the ½ sheet and roll up, jelly-roll style. Place each piece, seam side down, on a baking sheet. Brush with more melted butter or spray and sprinkle again with Parmesan and seasons. Repeat until all the asparagus spears are used up. Place baking sheet in oven and bake for 10 to 13 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy. Serve at room temp with ArborBrook MLH Sauvignon Blanc.
